It underwent extensive construction and expansion in 1890-1891 when the chapel was built. One of the cemetery's most impressive monuments was erected in 1857 at Henry Clay's grave site. Among other notable families with members buried there are the Hunt-Morgans and the Breckinridges.Records from the Lexington Cemetery Company of Lexington, Ky. comprise this accession. They are most complete from the 1860s to the 1930s. Among the holdings are nine volumes of time books (1866-1902), financial records, including payrolls, bills, receipts and invoices. Section books contain lot diagrams.
