*The NCAA Division I Basketball Committee, meeting in San Diego, announced that the city of Lexington, and the University of Kentucky and Rupp Arena have been picked as the hosts for the 1985 NCAA Finals. The committee selected Lexington  a longtime hotbed for college basketball  over Indianapolis, New Orleans and Pontiac, Mich., as possible sites for the '85 tourney. It will mark the first time Lexington has ever hosted the NCAA Finals, although Louisville's Freedom Hall has hosted the event six different times. Three years ago, Lexington bid for the '82 finals but lost out to New Orleans, with lack of hotel accommodations being a prime drawback.
?The Kentucky Athletics Board awarded
radio rights to UK football and basketball games to the Kentucky Network, which outbid Jim Host and Associates by $100,000 over a three-year period. Host and Associates have held the contract for six years and built the network into the nation's top collegiate network. The UK Press, Radio and TV. Committee recommended to the Athletics Board to take the proposal by the Kentucky Network. After a long and sometimes heated discussion, the UK Athletics Board voted by 8-6 to accept the bid from the Kentucky Network.
?Kentucky basketball All-American Kyle Macy was voted the Southeastern Conference Athlete of the Year at the annual SEC banquet which this year was held in Lexington and hosted by Channel 18. The voting is done among the league's Sports Information Direc-
tors and a TV station representative from each school. It marked the second time in the five-year history of the award that a UK basketball player has been the recipient. Jack Givens won the award in 1978.

*The SEC's Bernie Moore Trophy, which goes to the conference school with the best record in the league's ten intercollegiate sports, has been awarded to the University of Alabama for the past season. The Crimson Tide totaled 66.5 points while Kentucky was fifth in the standings with 43.5 points.
