Broke a bone in his right foot Oct. 16 (second day of practice) and missed five weeks practice . One of the most exciting and crowd-pleasing players in many years at Kentucky, Shidler's reckless style of play made him an instant hit with basketball-crazy Wildcat fans ... A long range shooter with a quick release, the hustling blonde was hitting at 50 per cent of his shots before going into a mid-season slump that saw him drop to 40.9 at season end . . . His high game and greatest moment came in third game at Indiana when he scored 20 points to spark the Cats to a rousing 66-51 win over the Hoosiers . . . Scored in double figures 12 times . . . Played in 28 games, starting all . . . Fifth in time played with 677 minutes . . . Hit six second half shots in a row at Bama to lead a 87-85 UK win . . . Top scorer in Illinois in 1976 (32.8 ppg) . . . Earned 11 letters in four sportsfour in basketball, three each in baseball and track and one in football . . .
