C.S. Waugh and D.W Calder were railroad contractors in the early 1900s in Roanoke, Virginia.
The Waugh and Calder records are ledgers for the railroad contracting firm from Roanoke, Virginia. The first two volumes have alphabetical indexes of names at the front of the ledger that correspond with the page numbers; the third volume is a chronological record with no index. The record books detail transactions between the Waugh and Caulder company and various other entities. Included in the second volume are two checks to be redeemed at the Citizens National Bank of Orange, Orange, Virginia.
The ledgers themselves were manufactured by The Gibson & Perin Co. Station Printers of Cincinnati, Ohio.
