My Son:
I How are you this fine day? My how well the 1
new ribbon is working in the typewriter and it '
was just past useing before Dad got it in.
We have been looking for Nancy down all me: I
morning and she isnt here yet, and its past noon
I She surely had more to do than she thought for. 3
Judys are working on their garden today I
piling rock and getting ready to plow. I
Dad has been home all morning has been
\ writing most of the time he isnt going to try to ‘
work today hoping he will feel more like it by
tomarrow.
Lad nas just given his plant bed up to the
pups and now they have learned to come up on the
front porch but Mother isnt going to turn it over t
to them for I shall put up the old gate I have
used on old joe and Lou befnee.
Laddy felt bad yesterday and never did go
~ for the mail so your Sunday letter will be a day
late and it makes you miss a day but I cant very
- well help it.
Hope you are fine and that your work is stil
a little less than it was before you came home.
We are looking forward to another letter .
from you soon we might be tomarrow getting it as
‘1 your last letter came by plane.
- I supose its to early to know how you came o
out with the car being fixed up. ? I only hope it
' wont cost you anything yet I am very thankfull
you was not hurt.
- , My tulips are still in bloom and the little
wild flowers you brought in from the hill are
' still prettp I keen changing the water in them.
_, With much Love from your,

My Son: How are you tonight? Fine I hope, and I to
hope you are not as tired as I am. I worked a littl
planting in the garden today and you know how it hurts i
the frist useing the hoe in the Spring.
I only planted six rows of stuff but it gave m
me the spring fever,The garden has not been laid off
so I got the frist two rows so crooked I tried tying
a string through to go by and in driving the stake
to hold the string I missed the lick and hit my shin
with the ax and l have a pump not the size of an egg
on my led.
Its only a little after eight but Gene and her '
babies are in bed they are going to go home in the
morning as Daddy goes to Benham to work and that will
be rather early for them.
Daddy worked Maryhellen today and was in foe
lunch and after sunper he went to town it seems he ‘
is never at home any more only to eat .
Got your letter last night and was indeed glad
to hear from you, and am expecting another one tonight
I am so glad you are so good to write us it makes us
feel so much nearer to you. i
Glad you went to the show if you didnt get i
in dutch for cutting the lecture. ?
Well you will have had the other clinping by :

press. Dad had the nicest letter from Bill Kroger [
today I should send it to you I guess. 4
Judy has been working hard geting her garden ”

Son how I wish you could raid my ice box ‘
tonight for Gene and I made a cake and froze some
cream today and it was so good at supper. I really .
, havent cooked much since Gene has been hear nor '
done much of any thing else but I was sick two of l
the days. a
I fed the pups for Dad tonight and only
four of them were there it worries me a little for
I have been so afraid they would be stolen you know ‘
any one could pick: them up .
I wouldnt cry if they should disapear yeth i
would hate to loose them after I have had so much
trouble with them, I wish Dad would sell them while th
they are little. I
Daddy brought me in a new lawn mower last night 3
a cheap one I dont know why he insists on buying a L
cheap lawn mower when he wants the best of every thing
Maybe its because its something he never uses him ‘
self but I wanted a real good one for I do take good
care of it and I use it so much.
I hOpe to get my Spl" ing cleaning started L
bright and early Monday morning and have no one to hex ,
help so far but one thing sure if I do it myself it ‘
will be done right.
I am going to read our chapter and hit the J
