- Adolph Rupp talks about growing up in his hometown of Halstead, Kansas, working on his family's farm and surrounding farms, and the differences between his childhood and now. He discusses playing basketball in high school, his last minute decision to attend the University of Kansas, the transition between small town life and the college experience, and being a freshman at the University of Kansas. Rupp briefly mentions the transition between basketball coaches Karl Schlademan and Forrest "Phog" Allen and working at the Jayhawk Cafe. The interview ends with Rupp recalling the tradition of the freshman caps at the University of Kansas.
