56 THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY. [ _ ‘ Athletic Field. l The new Athletic Field is one of the largest and finest in the ` W entire South. It contains two gridirons for football, a baseball dia- mond and a running track. These are so arranged that one sport does not interfere with another, the football gridirons lying entirely im without the baseball diamond. The running track circles the main Va gridiron for a quarter of a mile and has a straightaway of 220 yards. gm This iield was graded and equipped recently at a great expense. The ; _ construction of an asphalt street on Winslow has made the Held com- { plete and perfect in all its arrangements. ‘_ _ Co sel 11i1 wl tal th: Q En I Al; Pl: Hi — Fo So Vt l<`r Ge .
