Out of the South roars the thundering herd of Red Elephants from
the University of Alabama to do
battle with the Big Blue team of
Kentucky. The Elephants are Just
as big and tough as ever but hope
for a Wildcat win runs Just as high
as it has for the past 14 years.
Whether they win or not lies entirely with the Kentucky team. Another game like the one they played against Georgia Tech and they
will go down In humiliating defeat,
but if they play the inspired ball
that they did against Tennessee
last season they should come
through with a glorious victory.

Last Friday the Crimson Tide
barely nosed out a plucky team
from Loyolaof the South, 13 to 7.
The score could have been much
larger had Coach Prank Thomas
wanted the boys to run it up, but
following the usual football strategy he chose to win by a small score
ad to keep his many tricks in the
bag. The Tide is undefeated to
date but was held to a scoreless
tie by the Tennessee Volunteers.

These take place each Sunday afternoon from the first of November

Each year six major plays are
given at the Guignol Hicatre.
Director-producFrank Fowler
chooses tlie.se plays which are of
local interest and national reputation. The playhouse is located In
the Art center. Students, faculty,
and other people of Lexington have
taken parts in plays such as: The
Taming of the Shrew, Under the
Oas Lights, The Guardsman, The
Circle, The Lady of the CameUlas
and Counselor at Law.
The museums on the campus
would interest anyone, for they
cover many subjects. Their number is surprising.
First, there is
the geological museum in the Administration building which shows
to the student the history of the
structure of the state of Kentucky,
its minerals, and their location.
More of the mineral wealth of the
state can be found in the Mining
museum. In the old Library building Is the Archeologlcal and Anthropological museum. It tells the
story of the early Inhabitants of
Kentucky,
of

other objects dug from mounds of

for the last lap of their season, the

the close of the grid campaign.
Coach Rupp made the following
statement at the close of practice
last evening:
Team Better
"We will have a better team than
we had last year when the team
gets together and gets organized.
Our schedule for the coming season is one of the toughest in the
history of the school and we will
have to go hard all year if we want
to have a successful season.
At
present, we are having three practice sessions weekly but will swing
into full time as soon as the football
material reports. Much of our
material is on the football team,
including Goforth, Hagan, Ellington, Garland, Hodge, and Curtis.
"We have some good material up
from the freshman ranks this year,
and they should go far in bringing
back some of the power, lost
