          President Donovan recommended that the Heidelberg fellowship again
be awarded to Miss Ellen Kerckhoff van Gemeren for the year 1954-55. He
also concurred in the recommendation of the Committee on Foreign Students.

          Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the recommendations
of the President were concurred in, and the awards indicated were approved
for the school year 1954-55.



          U. Light Horse Husbandry Contract Approved.

          President Donovan submitted contract covering rental of horses for
the course in Light Horse Husbandry for the current semester.  He stated
that the contract form is identical to that approved by the Board for the school
year 1952, and recommended approval and authorization.

         Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the contract for the
rental of horses for the course in Light Horse Husbandry was approved and
authorized executed on behalf of the University.



         V. Small Egg Incubators Authorized Sold.

         The Comptroller reported that the Department of Animal Pathology
had two small egg incubators surplus to their need. He recommended that
one be sold to Dr. Halbert Leet for $100. 00, and that the other be offered for
sale.

         Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the recommendation
of the President was concurred in and the Comptroller was authorized to make
delivery, upon receipt of payment of purchase price.



         W. Ruth McQuown to Do Outside Work.

         President Donovan reported request of Miss Ruth McQlown,concurred
in by Dean M. M. White, College of Arts and Sciences, to serve as part-time
Executive Secretary for the Greater Lexington Committee. It was understood
that the maximum time per week to be served would be eight hours, and that
time would not be during the regular working hours of the University. Miss
McQuown will receive $100. 00 per month for the work. President Donovan
recommended that the request be granted.

         Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Board concurred
in the recommendation of the President,
