The Cats' Pause Lexington, Kentucky
Dear Sir:
After listening to the Georgia game and reading Kenneth B. Hatfield's letter in your January 1, 1977, issue, all I can say to him is "NUTS." With that sort of attitude, I sincerely hope you rush his money back C.O.D.
Down here in Texas (Houston area) it's tough to pull UK games via WHAS but I make a point of it for every game. Texas is NOT a big basketball state as we have to hunt for details of even University of Houston basketball in our local papers.
Therefore, you can imagine how much I appreciate The Cats' Pause. There are some UK fans at work (Texas Instruments) and your paper gets passed around and thoroughly perused each week (even by the local Hoosiers).
We were all proud of the UK football team's performance in the Peach Bow. After attending the Mississippi State and Florida games, I knew they could do it.
I'm glad to see all the favorable comments about The Cats' Pause, just keep 'em comings.
A loyal UK Alumni & Fan,
Dr. Glen G. Possley Sugar Land, Texas

Dear Sir:
Enclosed find check for $10 for my subscription to The Cats' Pause.
I got a copy from a friend and really enjoyed it. I've been looking for something like this for years. I listen to all of the Cats' games on radio. Keep up the good work.
Sincerely yours,
Afon Bates Antwerp, Ohio
Dear Sir:
Would it be possible to obtain back issues of The Cats' Pause?
Having been born and raised in Kentucky and a UK follower for life, I'm finding it hard to obtain any inside information concerning the Cats here.
About ali I can do is listen to Cawood Ledford on all the games. I thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Frank Mattingly, Muncie, Indiana
[Editor's note: Back issues of The Cats' Pause from issues numbered from 12 to the present are available for fifty cents each plus 25 cents mailing and postage. More than one issue ordered at the same time requires only a total of twenty-five cents postage. No individual copies of issue 1-11 are available But fifty bound volumes, containing issues 1-12 of the 1976 football season are available for $10 each. These volumes are bound and trimmed especially for fans who wish to keep them as a collector's item. At the end of the basketball season, we will make a similar basketball volume available to our readers. All orders should be directed to the circulation department and they will be shipped by second class mail.]
Dear Sir:
First introduced to The Cats' Pause by my brother who lives in Middles -boro while visiting there at Thanksgiving, I purchased two issues at a Barbourville bookstore during the Christmas holidays.
Needless to say, both issues have been devoured by myself and my son. Your publication has to be one of the best reportorial efforts on UK athletics and it fills a real void for us out-of-state true blue "Big Blue" fans who really never receive much information on UK sports.
Enclosed please find a check for $10 and^t will be greatly appreciated if you would begin my subscription with the January 1st issue. And please keep The Cats' Pause coming for a long time.
Sincerely,
Paul F. Taylor Augusta, Georgia
Dear Sir:
I am writing to say that I was gald to see your story on Jim Lampley of ABC-TV. Another employee of ABC, Howard Cosell on his radio show, said that UK had so many violations that he couldn't name them. People like Cosell and Lampley should do more invest-
igating before making such statements.
They should have read your article in your newspaper on the NCAA investigation to get a better understanding. In my opinion, UK came out of the investigation as one of the class programs in the nation.
I would like to see you do more reporting on high school prospects in football and basketball. Could you give more information on who UK is recruiting, and what are the top athletes?
I would like to end the letter by saying I enjoy your newspaper very much.
Sincerely,
Darrell Detherage Loretto, Kentuckv
A6ou TRufefi AntHO,
Dear Sir:
I am a very avid Wildcat fan who is isolated from all sources of information about the teams except through The Cats' Pause.
So far, I have received all of the magazines except for No. 2 and the most recent No. 12. I would appreciate receiving the No. 12 since I was looking forward to reading about the opening of Rupp Arena in that copy.
I would appreciate your assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
Eddie Wills, Jr. M.D. Akron, Ohio

Dear Sir:
Please add me to you list of subscribers to The Cats' Pause. I am a natived Kentuckian from Bell County
now living in Ohio.
I have listened to and watched Kentucky on television since 1962 when I first got in to Kentucky sports.
The last six years I have listened to the game when I can catch them on WHAS-AM but at times the station fades. I would like to know what their WHAS-FM station call numbers are on the radio if you know.
Congratulations to Coach Curci adn the rest of the staff and team on their win in the Peach Bowl. It was a good ballgame and looked like they had things well in hand in the second half.
Also good luck to Coach Hall and his basketball squad. Sincerely,
William Carter Miamisburg, Ohio
[Editor's note: The WHAS-FM station does not carry the UK games. However, WKRC Radio in Cincinnati this season carries the games live for all the Wildcat fans in Northern Kentucky, Southern Ohio and Cincinnati area.]

Dear Sir:
I am a subscriber to your newspaper and I did not receive the January 1, issue of The Cats' Pause. If it is possible, please send this issue to me as soon as possible.
This has to be the greatest newspaper in the nation, but that is only common with the university. It seems the "Big Blue" extends itself in everything in being No. 1.
I was one of the 37,000 in Atlanta, and I will be there in March. Sincerely, ,
Wayne Eberenz Louisville, Kentucky
Dear Sir:
Enclosed please find my check for $10. I've been reading a friend's issue since it started. I want one for myself so I can save them.
This makes the fifth subscribe in Morehead that I know. We all love Kentucky and drive seventy miles each way for every game. We haven't missed a home game in three years and go to a few away games and especially enjoyed the Tennessee football game this year.
Congratulations to the UK football team! Good luck in basketball because we already have reservations in Atlanta for March I Sincerely,
Gary Edmon Morehead, Kentucky
