COLONEL
The Wee!

All-Star- s,

during the Kentucky State Fair next September.

Pete Grigsby could not have picked a better time to score his
first marker of the season than he did Monday ni'jjit. The former
Martin High star toed the line for two free throws with only seconds remaining in the game, and UK needing one point to break
the century mark. Pete calmly dropped the first one through to
bring UK's home season to a thrilling conclusion.
e

Although happy at beating Yanderbilt by. such an impressive
score, most UK fans left Monday night's game saddened bv the
realization that this was the final home game for the "Big Three."

The fans showed their appreciation to the wonderful contribution
of the three players by their applause at halltime. when the three
were introduced. The three certainly have had plenty of hardships
to face on their road to glory, but they have proved that they
deserve being ranked with the greatest cagers of all time.

Coach Blanton Collier will get his first chance to see the UK
gridders work out Monday afternoon, when spring football practice liegins. Coach Collier has a tough season ahead ol him, lint
with the outstanding staff he has selected, he will have plenty ol
capable help. However, if anyone can come throuuh with a great
team next year, it will be him. The more a person tpclics the
background and qualifications of Collier, the more he realizes how
fortunate UK is to have him for a football coach. If there ever
was a man that knows every phase of football, it is Collier. He
will certainly keep UK on tlie winning side in the grid sport.

Indiana's Hoosiers continue to lose games and still keep a
high ranking. This week it was the Iowa llawkeyes. who handed
the Hoosiers an S2 to 61 drubbing. The IT' ratings, which were
selected before the Indiana massacre, rated the Hoosiers in se cond
place and UK in third position. This defeat was the third lor the
Indiana five this season. It appears that the Big Ten teams have
found that the Hoosiers are not unbeatable.
