4.55 Cubic feet 13 Boxes Margaret Ingels was a University of Kentucky alumnus and a pioneer in the air conditioning industry. She was born October 25, 1892 in Paris, Kentucky and died in Lexington, Kentucky on December 13, 1971. She was the first women in the United States to receive an engineering graduate degree. She also received the first Bachelors and Masters degrees in engineering awarded to a woman by the University of Kentucky. The Margaret Ingels papers, 1845-1967, bulk 1916-1967 (4.55 cubic feet, 13 boxes) consists of artifacts, dertificates and awards, clippings, correspondence, publications, speeches, a scrapbook, and photographic prints documenting the life and career of Margaret Ingels.
