Robert G. Lawson, dean of the UK College of Law, is a native of Whitman, W. Va., and a graduate of Logan (W. Va.) High School. Lawson holds a bachelor's degree from Berea College and a law degree from UK.
Lawson joined the UK law college faculty in 1965 as an adjunct instructor and was named an assistant professor in 1966. He became associate professor in 1969 and served as acting dean from 1971-1973. Lawson was named dean in 1982.
Prior to joining the law college faculty, Lawson practiced law in Lexington. He also served as a tax counselor for the Appalachian Power Co., Roanoke, Va.
During his teaching career, Lawson was named four times as the outstanding profession of the college by the Student Bar Association and was named a Great Teacher in 1971 by the UK Aftimni Association.
Lawson specializes in criminal law, criminal procedure and evidence. He servecl. as the principal writer of the penal code currently in use in Kentucky while a consultant to the Kentucky Crime Commission and the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission.
Hagan To Chair Group
Frank Ramsey Jr. of Madisonville is an alumni member of the UK Board of Trustees. While a UK student majoring in commerce, Ramsey was twice an All-America basketball player, three-time All-SEC and captain of the team.
He also was a three-time All-SEC baseball player. Ramsey was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and president of the K Club. Ramsey played professional basketball with the Boston Celtics from 1955 to 1964. During that time the Celtics won seven world championships and eight Eastern Division titles. Ramsey received UK's Centennial Athletic Achievement Award in 1965 and was installed into the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. in 1982.
A farmer, Ramsey is president and director of the Dixon Bank in Dixon; president of Watkins Rest Home, Inc.; and a member of Rizpah Shrine Temple, Madisonville; Lexington Lodge #1, F and A M, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels; UK Alumni Association board of directors; board of directors of Farmers Bank in Madisonville and of Helm's Athletic Foundation Hall of Fame.
Dr. Charles W. Ellinger is a professor of prosthodontics in the UK College of Dentistry. A native of Lancaster, Ohio, Ellinger holds professional degrees from Ohio State University and was in private practice in Lima, Ohio before serving as a captain in the Dental Corps of the U.S. Army. He joined the UK faculty in 1965.
Ellinger was the recipient of the New York Academy of Prosthodontics Schweitzer Award as the most outstanding researcher in prosthodontics in the U.S. He also has received the UK Alumni Association's Great Teacher Award and is the academic ombudsman at UK, a post that considers student grievances about academic matters.

College of Dentistry basketball team --
the UK Dental Molars -- which he coaches. Among its players was Dr. Bob Guyette of UK Wildcat fame.

Neal Hardesty
Neal Hardesty, a senior management major, was appointed as the student member on the UK Athletics Board last summer.
A Louisville native, Hardesty is the chairman of the student athletic ticket committee, which is a sub-committee of the athletics board. He also has been a member of the student senate for the last three years.
Hardesty is the president of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and the chairman pro-tempore of the UK Student Center and he was recently given a leadership award from his fraternity.
University of Kentucky president Otis Singletary says his five-man ad hoc committee to recommend a new head basketball coach will move swiftly, but will take whatever time is necessary to ensure that the best coach is recommended for the job.
On Monday, Singletary named the five-man committee with athletics director Cliff Hagan acting as chairman of the group. Others on the committee are: Dr. Robert Lawson, Dean of College of Law and faculty representative to the SEC and NCAA; Dr. Charles Ellinger, professor in the College of Dentistry; Frank Ramsey, a member of the UK Board of Trustees and former Ail-American basketball player at UK and Neal A. Hardesty, a sophomore student from Louisville who is the student representative to the UKAA Board of Directors.
Singletary said the ad hoc committee would advise the UKAA's board of directors in the selection process of the new basketball coach to replace the Joe B. Hall who retired as coach after last Friday's game with St. John's.

Clifford O. Hagan has been UK's athletics director since taking over the position in July 1975, replacing the late Harry C. Lancaster. A native of Owensboro, Kentucky, Hagan graduated from Kentucky with a 2.7 GPA (out of a possible 3.0) in Physical Education.
Hagan overlooks a growing department as its budget operates a $7 million program.
In 1978 he was the first ever Kentucky player selected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
After finishing out his professional basketball career as player/coach of the Dallas Chapparals, Hagan returned to the university in 1972 as an assistant athletic director under Lancaster.
Hagan finished his pro career by scoring 14,908 points and he was All-Pro in the NBA (St. Louis Hawks) in 1957-62.
While at UK the Ail-American played on squads that were victorious in 86 of 91 contests. He was a part of the team that captured the NCAA championship in 1951. For Owensboro Senior he scored 41 points in the championship game to lead the Red Devils to the 1949 state crown.
