Student. Mary Ferguson was a student at Science Hill School, Shelbyville, Ky, in the 1850's.
The microfilm contains a copy of Mary Ferguson's "Reminiscences of Science Hill School," a recollection, in 1897, of school days some forty years earlier. She discusses examinations at the school, and the deterioration of children's manners in the years following her childhood. Much of her reminiscences deal with a schoolgirl's feelings about the 1856 presidential election between Millard Filmore and James Buchanan.
