LETTERMEN LOST FROM 1971-72 TEAM (5)
Kent Hollenbeck (6-4)Had career cut short with broken foot (four times final year). Played in only five games before final injury against Alabama after scoring 10 points in a three-point victory. Scored 436 career points. Signed by Virginia Squires.
Stan Key (6-3)Team's steadiest all-round performer.   Started all games, averaging
12.5 points and hitting 50.2 per cent of his shots. Led team with 89 assists. Scored 5 1 2 career points.
Bob McCowan (6-2)No. 1 reserve, started three games when Lyons was injured. Scored season high 15 points in UKIT against Missouri. MVP of 1969 UKIT Played 390 minutes in 26 games.  Scored 296 career points.
Tom Parker (6-7)Two-time All-SEC, capped final season with Associated Press SEC Player-of-the-Year Award. Wore jersey number 12 and became 1 2th top scorer at UK with 1,238 career points. Recorded top playing time despite missing one game. Won MVP award against Notre Dame with 30 points. Career high 32 against Mississippi State in 1971.
Dan Perry (6-8 F)Started one game after scoring four crucial points on the road at Kansas State. Played 53 minutes in 1 0 games, scoring eight points.
RETURNING LETTERMEN (5)
Jim Andrews (6-11 C)Team's top scorer with 602 points, placed second in the SEC. Set school shooting record 57.7 per cent from the field. Leading rebounder with 1 1.3 per game.  First team All-SEC and All-NCAA Mid-East.
Rick Drewitz (6-7 F-C)Provided relief at forward and center, accumulating 233 minutes in 24 games. Averaged three points and two rebounds per game, and hit 55.2 per cent from the field.
Ray Edelman (6-2 G)Saw reserve guard duty in 13 games. Gained valuable experience which could pay off this season. Scored 1 1 points for the season.
Ronnie Lyons (5-10 G)Fourth leading scorer with 344 points, a 13.2 average. Selected as Best Ball Handler in the SEC. Led team in free throw accuracy, 87.5, good for third in the SEC.
Larry Stamper (6-6 F)Started all games, averaging 10.3 points and 10.2 rebounds. Made fewest turnovers (51) of the regulars. High game of 20 points against Florida, and 1 8 rebounds against Mississippi.

Jimmy Dan Conner (6-4 G-F)Second leading scorer (19.0) and fifth in rebounding (6.5).  Runaway leader in assists (83).
Mike Flynn (6-3 G)Third in scoring (15.4) and fourth in rebounding (6-5).
Kevin Grevey (6-5 F)Leading scorer (22.2) and third in rebounding (9.1).
Bob Guyette (6-8 C-F)Fifth in scoring (14.1) and second in rebounding (10.0).
Jerry Hale (6-1 G)Averaged 6.7 points and assumed playmaker role with 48 assists in first guard sub role.
Steve Lochmueller (6-7 F-C)Handicapped by broken foot but responded well after mid-season. Averaged 6.7 points and 6.1 rebounds. Hit 51.7 per cent from field.
G. J. Smith (6-7 F)Leading rebounder (10.3) and fourth in scoring (14.6).
