           Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the recommenda-
 tions relating to Dr. Leo M. Chamberlain and Dr. A.D. Albright were ap-
 proved, effective July 1, 1962.




          R. Dr. Chamberlain Commended.

          Members of the Board recalled their long acquaintance and pleasant
association with Dr. Leo M. Chamberlain as teacher, Registrar, Dean of
the University and Vice President of the University. They recalled his long
and faithful service to this University and directed that their sentiment of
deep appreciation for his untiring efforts and wise counsel be spread upon
these minutes.



          S. Budget Adjustments.

          President Dickey recommended that a budget appropriation of $500. 00
be made to support the Stylus, publication of the Department of English, and
.thatthe sum of $2, 800. 00 be appropriated from the Haggin Fund for scholar-
ships of teachers of English during the summer session of 1962.

          Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the recommendations
were approved and authorized consummated.




          T. Contract with State Department of Health Approved.

          President Dickey submitted a contract for the conduct of Regional
Pediatric Clinics in rural Kentucky. He stated that this work would be financed
by the State Department of Health from Federal funds and that the surm of
$2, 000. 00 was involved.

          Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the contract was
approved and authorized executed.




          U. Textbooks Adopted for University School,

          President Dickey stated that, according to law, it would be necessary
for the Board of Trustees to adopt textbooks to be used by the University School.
He stated that, if the Board took appropriate action, same would be reported
to the State Department of Education and State Board of Education. HIe made
available a list of 1962 textbooks adopted for public elementary and high schools
in Kentucky for the period 1962-66.
