     Scope and Contents
The John Moylan ledger (dated 1792-1794; 0.1 cubic feet; 1 item) consists of business transactions that took place in John Moylan's clothing and textile store in Lexington, Kentucky. Each patron had a page that lists items purchased as well as remaining balance owed. In most cases where a balance is owed the ledger indicates the date the balance is due. The writing is faded, but a few of the items still legible are hymn books, stationary, hats, blankets, and wine. Toward the back of the ledger, there are pages pertaining to a voyage to New Orleans; the items he purchased there to resell at his store in Lexington.
