5 College of Education. Admission to this college is governed by the gen-
eral admission requirements of the University outlined on the preceding pages.
Q In order to transfer to the College of Education from another institution or
1 from another college of the University, a student must have a standing of 2.0
f or higher.
College of Commerce. Requirements for admission to the College of Com-
merce as a freshman, or with advanced standing, or as a special student, are
the same as those outlined in the General Catalog of the University. Students ,
I whose scores rank in the lower fourth on the University classification tests will
Y be advised by a special committee of the College of Commerce and the
’ Counseling Oilice.
College of Pliarmucy. In addition to meeting the general requirements for
E admission to the University, the applicant must have achieved a grade point
1 average of at least 2.0 in at least 67 credit hours of acceptable college work,
including: two semesters of general chemistry, including qualitative analysis;
S analytical chemistry; two semesters of general physics with laboratory; two
1 semesters of English composition; general botany; general zoology; college
B algebra; trigonometry; and two semesters of humanities courses. The applicant
_ must demonstrate a minimum proficiency in typing, offer entrance credits in
; typing, or be concurrently registered in a typing course.
College of Medicine. Applicants for admission to the College of Medicine,
T in addition to meeting general University requirements, must meet the require-
· ments of the College of Medicine and be accepted by the Medical College
- Admissions Committee. Applicants normally will be required to have com-
- pleted a liberal arts degree program in an accredited college of arts and sci-
ences. It is anticipated that successful applicants will have a college grade
’ point average of 2.75 or higher. Consideration may be given to applicants who
_ have completed only three years of college or to applicants from a non—liberal
; arts program or from a non-accredited college if their academic backgrounds
' and other credentials demonstrate superior ability. Applicants must be prepared
I with the following minimal requirements or their equivalent: two semesters of
Q physics which includes laboratory work; two semesters in the biological sciences
' including laboratory work; two full year courses in chemistry with laboratory
` and including organic chemistry; and one year of English with emphasis on
communicative skills.
College of Nursing. Requirements for admission to the College of Nursing
are to be determined. Graduate nurse applicants will be expected to complete
the Graduate Nurse Qualifying Examination developed by the National League
for Nursing, prior to admission to the College.
Graduate School. An applicant for admission will normally be required to
bc a graduate of a fully accredited institution of higher learning, with an over-
all grade point average of 2.5. Applications from graduates of institutions not
fully accredited will be evaluated individually. Under exceptional conditions
applicants without a grade point average of 2.5 may be admitted as "unclassi-
fied" students. (Conditions under which they 1nay attain candidacy for a
degree are stated in the Graduate School Bulletin.) Admission does not obli-
gate the University to accept all credits presented. VVhen full credit is not
