 PRES|DENT’S WELCOME
My Dear Students;
You are entering the University at the most interesting period
“ in the history of the world. We welcome you to the campus of
a friendly institution. While you are here the Nation will pass
from war to peace. For the past several years our thoughts have
‘ been on war. During the period ahead we shall turn our thoughts
toward a world at peace. Instead of preparing for war while you
are in college we hope that you
‘Q » _ -''”l will be able to prepare your-
lv l V- self to fit into a world at peace.
Y A V S Young men and women have
g I L to be well educated in these
i days if they are to render to
O _‘ 2; society the contribution which
,_. ` ""'*~— society has a right to expect
gj _, __ J._l l li of them. We hope you will find
  — _ the University a very stimulat-

  — you be upon the errands of the
  » i fM""lJ J mind while you are a student
__ Y: here. We wish for you while
