It was owned by George Norton who purchased Hopkinsville radio station WFIW, moved it to the top of the Brown Hotel in downtown Louisville and went on the air as a CBS affiliate with a 1,000 watt transmitter. WAVE went off the air in 1981.The collection is comprised of fifty five 1/4" reel to reel audio tapes. It contains the "Voices and Events" summary of the news for 1950 - 1956 and various political speeches by V.P. Barkley, Gov. "Happy" Chandler and Gov. Nunn.
