     The Executive Cormmittee of the Board of Trustees, University
of Kentucky, met in regular monthly session on 'ednesday, Jan-
ary. 13, 1927, at ll:0O a. m. in the President's office at the
University.

that te firm of `arner and tMcCornack, of Cleveland, Ohio, be em-
ployed as architects for the new recitation building.    A motion
was sade, seconded. Rnd unanimously cqrried that the recormendation

     (3) Architects' Fees on Forze Shotn. A statemernt s received
from M4r. t. J. Crjtcher, Surerintendent of Buildinzs and Grounds,
ce-ardina, architects' fees on the 'endt Shon  .4 motion was made,
3econded snd carried, that Frankel and Curtis be raid the usual
Lee for rians and specifications for the building, not including
supervision, the supervision being done by Dean Anderson and V'r.

     (4) Floor for Wendt Shop.  A bid for 2,250 from Louis des
2oonets and Comtany for concrete v ork, excavation, pits, grading,

     (5) Request of BoR.rd of Rezents of Testern State Teachers'
Uclleze.   P communication from the Boqrd of Regents of wT estern
state Teachers' College at Bo-ling Green, Kentuoky, making a
prorosal for the establishment of a demonstration field at Bowlinz
0-reen, was read.  The Board discussed the matter at length and
1.sked that the matter be taken under f.rther consideration, and
That an arrropriate commrunicetion be sent tc the Board of Rezents
of Western State Teachers' College, advising th -t the matter will

     (8) Bill of Jamrres l. '`hite for Architectts Sarvices. A bill

sented and ordered raid.


     (9) Plans for camrus fevelopment. After diqcussion, a motion
was made, seconded, and car"ied that the rians prepared by- Mr.
'7hite for campus develorment be adopted at a tentative basis for
the location qnd size of buildirrs.


     (1i) Attorney for 4eeds at Quickssnd.   On motion, d#iy
3econded, the  O-6mittee authorized that Judge O. H. Pollard, of
Jaokson, Kentucky, be eng.aged to look into the claim of Mliles
-'ack to certain prorerty rights on rart of the prorerty recently
:,Lven Zby the L. & N. Railway to the University, foxmerly occupied
oy the company as a right-of-way.


     (11) Report of the Pthletic Association.   A. financial report
of the Athletic Association was read.    On motion, duly seconded,
it was ordered received and filed.


     (12) Aprointments, Chan es-in Salary and Resignations.    The
follou.ino list of aprointments and changes in status of personnel
Was recommended by the president, arid, on motion,duly seconded,
arrroved;

     Leave of absence for 0. J. Stewart of the Chemistry Department
for the year 1927-28 was granted, and leave of absence for the
second,-semester of 1926-1927, previously granted, was cancelled.

     Appointment of Mrs. Janet Vurbaoh as instructor in romance
 .anquages for 1927-1928, at a salary of '1,500 sas arrroved.

      Increase in salary of Kyle Thitehead, instructor in the
Department of Journalism, from -75,00 to 100.00 a month, due
ro additional assignment of work, was aprroved.
      The appointment of an additional clerk in the College
of Engineering was approved at .60.00 per month.

     The request of the dean of the College of Engineering for
the appointment of a research man was dicarnroved for the current
year owinz to the lack of budget provisions therefor.

     The appointment of Jaspar Combs as assistant county agent,
Breathitt County, at a salary of '100 a month, from December 19,
1926, to April 30, 1927, was approved.

  - The aprrointment of Dudley S. Bishop as assistant county
agent, Adair County, from December 17, 1926, to April 30, 1927,
at a salary of Fl00 a month, was arrroved.

     The appointment of 0. B. Travis, as county agent, Breckin-
ridge County, from January l to December 31, 1927, at a salary
of l50 a month, was approved.

      The resignations of the following county agents were ac-
ceptedt

      J. A. "esson, effective December 31, 1226
      F. C. Talker, effective December 31, 1926
      Miss Jessie 0. Yancey, home demonstration agent, Fayette
County, effective December 1, 1926.

     Increases in salary of J. P. Smith, field agent in poultry
husb3andry, from *2,900 to ;@3,100 a year, effective January 1,
.927; Earl G. Welch, field azent in agricultural engineering from
33,000 to *3,200 a year; and J. M. Feltner, field agent in junior
,lub work from . 2,900 to "3,100 a year, effective January 1,
1927, were approved.

     The appointment of MiNHss Gertrude WPade as assistant professor
@f home economics to succeed Miss Gard, resigned, at a salary
cf 2,000 a year, on a ten-months basis, effective February 1,
1927, wqs aporoved.

     The appointment of Eugene Simpson as assistant nursery
inspector at *!125 a month on a month-to--month basis, was aprroved.

     The appointment of Sergeant M. T. McCormick, U.S.A., Petired,
as military store keeper was reported by President VcVey and ap-
proved by the Committee.


     (13) Purchase of a House on Graham Avenue.   Mr. Peak reported
to the Committee that the weaver residence on Graham. Avenue was
orobably for sale.   The matter was discussed and the 'resideint
Oaid Business Agent authorized to rurchase it in case it can be had
tor a reasonable price.
