Golden Anniversary
This  season,  the  University      f\\ tf\(\  1 I I A 1)   |\| I ' of Kentucky celebrates the     III        IH   I M4f|  ll I i 50th anniversary of its first     VA UlV IV/ IV 11 V. NCAA Championship, won by a team affectionately known as the "Fabulous Five." The squad finished the season with a 36-3 record, defeating Baylor, 58-42, to give Coach Adolph Rupp the first of four NCAA crowns. The following year, with only Kenny Rollins missing from the Fab Five, UK repeated as champs, winning the 1949 title. The 36 wins in 1948 still stand < as a school record.
