William Snyder Webb (1882-1964) was Head of the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology and the Department of Physics at the University of Kentucky. He retired in 1952 but continued to engage in archaeological research until his death in February of 1964.

The William Snyder Webb manuscript consists of the author's original typed manuscript of An Archaeology of Wheeler Basin in Northern Alabama. It features the author's editing marks throughout. Also of note are a group of papers with the editor's suggestions included with the manuscript.
