{T THE DEGREE OF B. S. IN INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTRY
l The degree of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry is
4 awarded upon completion of a prescribed curriculum. The cur-
riculum is designed to prepare the student to continue the study
. of chemistry in a graduate school, or to engage in technical work
z. with a substantial background of training. Although it is con-
structed on the basis of four academic years, students are advised
to plan to spend an additional semester or two summer terms, so
that the load may be lighter during the regular years.
German 2lb must be completed and one year’s work in French
is recommended, so that a fair reading knowledge of both lan—
guages may be acquired. Students planning to take this course
_ are advised to include one year of physics and one-half year of
l solid geometry in their high school studies. Deficiencies in these
‘ subjects may require enrollment in preliminary courses at the
University. Solid geometry is a prerequisite for Mathematics 19.
Registration in chemistry courses of juniors or seniors majoring
in chemistry or industrial chemistry is restricted to students hav-
ing a grade-point average of 1.5 or higher in all subjects exclusive
of military training, except that this regulation may be set aside
j by action of the faculty of the Department of Chemistryn
