test instead of the P. F. I. test. As a result of the testing program,   de

\ 1. Men students with a physical fitness index (P. F. I.) be-   q
· low 100 will be assigned to Weightlifting and Condi-  
tioning (P. E. 29) classes the subsequent semester or i
semesters to improve their P. F. I. until they reach the
norm for Kentucky men.
2. Women students ranked in the lower levels of the pos- · _
ture test will be assigned to Adapted Physical Education it
(P. E. 2) the subsequent semester or semesters until they , U
reach a level of good body mechanics satisfactory to the

~ 3. Those students (men and women) who failed in the t
sports knowledge and performance tests given in P. E. l T
will be required to enroll in the sports classes (P. E. 14
to 40) the subsequent semesters until he or she has cor-
rected these deficiencies. Every student is required to
become proficient in one team sport, one indoor in-
dividual rcreational sport, and one outdoor individual
recreational sport.

Note: A student may enroll in only one sports course (P. E. 4
to 40) per semester until the physical education requirements have
been fulfilled.
  The required or service physical education program consists of
specific courses of instruction for men and women students which
  are designed to: (1) determine the degree of physical fitness of the
‘ individual, (2) provide the student with a means of regulated and
ug supervised physical exercise, (3) teach the student activities which
// , may serve as a recreational pursuit during leisure time, and (4)
[ develop a sane and intelligent attitude toward the need for and D
benefits of well—regulated physical activity. After a student has r
fulfilled these requirements he is encouraged to enroll in advanced §
  sport classes for which he will receive one hour of credit for each 1*
three-hour course successfully completed. The number of hours i
acceptable is regulated by the Dean of each College.
