UK Football Video Tape Now Available
A special video cassette tape of 100 Years of Kentucky Football will go on sale within the next two weeks and is available to the general public at $49 each.
Produced by Sports Video Highlight, Inc. under rights granted by the UK Athletics Association, the tape will be the first in a series to be produced by the firm. A tape on Kentucky basketball will be released later this year.
Bill Wester and John Sayre of Sports Video Highlights, Inc. says the tape is narrated by popular sportscaster Tom Hammond.
The tape will be marketed in both VHS and Betamax editions. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the tapes will go to the UKAA.
SVH plans to produce a series of Hi-Lites Video tapes depicting the historical development of the student-athlete, both in basketball and football, including bowl games in football and tournament games in basketball.
"We envision that video tapes will serve a number of purposes -- pure pleasure for Big Blue fans, a recruiting function -- so that people outside Kentucky will better understand our student-athlete program, and an excellent opportunity for UK alumni, in
parts of the country where UK sports are not often covered by network television, to enjoy following UK by purchasing periodic updates of UK Hi-Lites at a reasonable cost," said SVH officials.
