DEMONSTRATION TEAMS T _ '
. . T T
Demonstration is one of the best educational methods em- T
ployed in presenting information. Two or more girls working · ` T
together in presenting information compose a demonstration . _
team. Team demonstration creates in girls poise, the ability
to think quickly to express themselves before an audience and _
makes for those qua.lities of leadership which are so often un- T ,. P
developed. ln addition the team demonstration is a very Ti
graphic way of aequaiirting people with the benefits of club work T 1
and of passirg on to them a knowledge of practises which have T T
been adopted by club girls. _ T
A clothing demonstration team is composed of girls who T . ‘
have successfully carried on a clothing unit and who have been T» , 1 , T
trained during their club project to demonstrate publicly some T ,
phase of the knowledge they have gained. A good demonstra- `
tion presents one idea and carries this to a successful conclusion; ¤T°"”i`
for instance, "Methotls of sewing on buttons and when to use
the1n," is a very sartisfactory demonstration and not difficult ,
to present. Various types of demonstrations are outlined in _ ,
club circulars 140 and 149. These, however, are only sugges- T
tions and it is hoped that club girls, with the help of their i i
leaders, will organize a.nd outline their own deinonstrations. In _
planning and outlining a demonstration it should always be kept ,
in mind tha.t the primairy a.im is to acquaint the audience with , T
some approved home praetis. This performance must be pre- ,
sented very clearly and simply if the hearers are to adopt such
21 practis without further instruction. Club girls must repeat a -
performance many times before they are skillful in presenting
it publicly. Practis in team demonstrating can well be a. part
of every club meeting, thus making the work more educational T ' T
. and vitally interesting to the girls. -
