Soldier, attorney. Thomas Robert McBeath, of Leitchfield, Ky. served as quartermaster for a regiment in the Union Army during the Civil War. Later he became an attorney and a judge.
This is a collection of papers which belonged to Thomas Robert McBeath. Included are Civil War army records and a number of letters dating from the war. The largest single group of letters were written during the war by McBeath to his fiancee, Nannie Wortham. Also included are some miscellaneous newspaper clippings.
