Mr. Oscar L. Combs, Publisher The Cats' Pause P.O. Box 7297 Lexington, Ky.
Dear Mr. Combs
I would like to commend you on the Cats' Pause. It is a super paper. Wish you'd do an article on the financial side of the UKIT. In that it has to be one of the country's richest, I believe the readers would enjoy being informed on the particulars: How much money it generates. The amount each visiting team takes home. The amount UK takes home and all the rest.
Sincerely, G.A. Russell Manchester, Tennessee

Dear Sir:
Please send the Cats' Pause to my brother who is in Germany in the Air Force. He loves UK with a purple passion. He gets to listen to some of the UK games on rebroadcast sometimes and he really appreciates this.
Having come from Carr Creek basketball is his thing so I know he will love the Cats' Pause as much as my husband and I do.
This is the best sports paper we have ever read. Keep up the good work.
My brother in Atlanta loves the Cats' Pause. Keeps him well informed on his favorite team. A wonderful service to all Kentuckians in or out of state.
Have a wonderful holiday.
Thank you, Jackie Kelly
Dear Sir:
Enclosed please find $20.00 for two subscriptions to The Cats Pause.

Dear Sir:
Please find $10.00 enclosed for a year's subscription to The Cats' Pause. I only recently read your magazine and liked it very much.
Since my subscription will not start for several weeks, would it be possible for me to obtain the back issues. I will be missing during this time. I do not want to miss any of the issues and since I live in Indiana I do not have access to your newspaper on the newstands.
I am looking forward fo receiving the Cats' Pause.
Sincerely

Dear Sir:
I have been a UK fan all my life. I must say I've never enjoyed reading a paper any more than I have The Cats' Pause. I love your unbiased opinions (ha, ha). I'm sending in a subscription for a loyal UK friend of mine, who is stationed in California. Please begin his subscription with the Dec. 4 issue. I want to keep him up to date with the Cats.
Thanks, Don Chancey Louisville, Ky.
Dear Sir:
I am an avid UK fan from Ashland, Ky. I graduated from UK in spring '76 and now employed in Charleston, West Virginia. Up here, UK is none-existent and I would very much like to subscribe to The Cats' Pause. Enclosed is a check for $10.00.
Thank you, Randy Patton Nitro, W. Va.
Dear Oscar:
We have never had the pleasure of meeting one another, but that will be
history during the Peach Bowl here as we will be there for all eating and drinking events. I am a Century Club member, one of the first-got about $2,500 from Atlanta for H-K House etc.
My wife Ginny (Allender) is from Lexington. We always stay in room 202 at H.K.
After reading The Cats' Pause -man, where have I been in being so late in sending the $10.00. Joe Hall (when he was here several weeks ago) asked if I subscribed. I had not heard of it. We usually stay with my very close friend Fred Fugazzi.
To those that aren't too familiar with this Atlanta traffic, I have advised several (hope they will pass on the info) when coming into Atlanta get off at COURTLAND exit, about mid-town-Courtland is one way towards the Marriott only 4 blocks from 1-75 exit.
Bye now, as I know you have more important matters to finalize before Peach Bowl kick-off. I used to write for my Paducah High paper but too many years has passed and my three fingers aren't as agile as they used to be.
GO BIG BLUE.

Dear Sir:
Who thought up that idiotic "Big Blue" at UK home basketball games? It's typical of the second rate promotion surrounding UK's first rate team, the public's first rate facility, and a first rate community like Lexington.
I recall the Center's grand opening several weeks ago and how we sat thru a totally dull and unimaginative series of "you pat my back and I'll pat yours." The staged program was a joke. I recall how they failed to put up proper TV stands for cameras and have had to do with ugly makeshifts.
I can cite other so-called efforts at promoting the Center which had about as much sparkle as a wet Roman candle on July 4. Why do things half-way all the time--like that drab and dull basketball program on sale at home games?

Dear Sir:
I was just writing to let you know what a fine job you are doing with The Cats' Pause and to also congratulate
Kentucky's powerful football team with the great season they had. Good luck in the Peach Bowl!
There is one thing I feel would make the paper more complete. Adding the roster, heights, and class of each team Kentucky is going to play. This would give America's number one fans a better report on Kentucky's opponents.
I am looking for four tickets to a Kentucky game in Rupp Arena on a Saturday night. Anyone have any tickets to sell please contact me: Mr. Robin Garmon, 508 6th St., Tompkins-ville, Ky. 42167
Sincerely, Robin Garmon
Dear Sir:

Dear Sir:
First let me say that we enjoy your publication very much. Have read every word of every issue.
Now, I feel very bitter about the recent rumors of wrong-doing regarding our football team. Apparently a cheap effort, right at recruiting time, (again) to keep Kentucky out of its future and well earned place as a leader in SEC football.
I back coach Curci and his staff 100 percent. Fine and talented people. What a wonderful wind up for a wonderful season with the most enjoyable trip to Knoxville. However, this is my point. The SEC or NCAA should make known any investigation of a member team, reveal the person or school making the accusation, state the charges and deal only with the school being investigated until facts are known. These cheap rumors are apparently armed at damaging Kentucky's recruiting program.
Remember the one about "Sonny Collins going to be arrested just after one of the games last year?
Lets let the NCAA or SEC be more open and honest, give facts after facts are established and put an end to the secret, allusive methods.
To your continuing success, Sir.
