MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES   -    May 30, 1911

    President Barker reported that Prof. M ller recommended that Prof. Shull of

Transylvania University be appointed Professor of Zoology, at a salary of :1500.,

and that the department of Geology be allowied a fellowship at a salary of $300.

    Motion made, seconded and carried unanimously that this matter be referred

to the Executive Committee with power to act.





     President Barker recommended that Dr. Tuthill be made full Professor of His-

tory and Mr. Tamison be made assistant Professor of History.

     Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried that this matter be referred to

the Executive Committee with power of act.





     It was stated by the President that Dr. Snow had requested that he be granted

a leave of absence for a year without salary and also that the Board authorize the

President to write him a letter of recommendation.

     Motion made, seconded and carried unanimously that Dr. Snow's request be com-

plied with.





     President Barker stated that Mr. Mustaine desired to buy-100 steel lockers, at

a cost of -A. or $5. apiece, the present lockers being very much too small.

     Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried that this be referred to the

Executive Committee with power to act.


     Motion made that the Board adjourn to meet at ten o'clock, Wednesday, May 31st,

in the Trustees' Room in the Gymnasium Building.
