For the present, and until a more efficient system of  
academic inst1·uetion shall begenerally established, an Acad- l
emy of preparatory instruction shall be organized in connec- 5 4
tion with the University, the immediate management and ,
( instruction of which will be committed to a competent Prin-  
cipal and Assistants; while the qualifications for admission,  
the course of study, and all matters pertaining to its general 1 .
interests, will be determined by the University Senate.   f

The general government of the University is vested in the  
( Board of Curators, which consists of not less than thirty  
members representing the Donors, unde1· the conditions pre-    
l scribed in the Charter.   ‘ T
I The delegated and representative powers of the corporation   ,.
are vested in the Regent and Executive Committee.   A
The immediate government of the students of` the Univer- i ‘ 1
sity is committed to the Faculties thereof—each student being   ‘ ,
amenable to the Faculty of that College to which he belongs l
I by virtue of his matriculation.   .
, i The Board of Visitors of the Agricultural and Mechanical   »
I College of Kentucky consists of six members, who are ap- i I
` pointed by the Governor of the State, with thc advice and l
g. consent of the Senate, and whose powers and duties are pre- l \
[ scribed in the Act of the General Assembly establishing this   1 ,
