The Krrnfl staff has chosrn for the year, 1955-5- 6
the ten top outstanding women on campus. These
coeds have been picked for their outstanding accomplishments and work at UK, and are all upper-cla- ss
women.

Anne Beard, a junior in Arts and Science, has
done an outstanding amount of work with Stylus,
serving as editor one year. Besides holding a part-timJob with the Lexington Leader Ann is active
in the English Club; a member of Cwens and president of Chi Delta Phi. English honorary. She has
also worked with the Guignol Players and the Kernel. Anne is from Lexington.

Past president of Kappa Kappa Gamma, Eliza- beth Bell, better known as "Liz", has been active on
campus for her past three years. Liz has served as
secretary of SGA for two terms and also is secretary of the United Students Party. She is a member
of WAA, Women's Administrative Council and
Last fall she attended the Leadership Conference and has worked with the League of Women
Voters. Liz is a member of Links, Cwens, and Mortar Board and has a 3.4 standing.

Marcy is a member of SuKy, Troupers and Alpha
Xi Delta sorority. Serving on the Student Government for two terms, Marcy has also been on the
SUB House Committee, and a member of the Outing Club. A junior in Arts and Sciences and a recipient of a Panhellenic scholarship, Marcy has a 3

Tippie is from Louisville and has a 3.75 standing.

A senior in Arts and Sciences, majoring in Journalism, Yvonne Eaton has served as news editor-of- .
the Kernel for the past year. She has been
chairman of Delta Zeta sorority, treasurer of Theta
Sigma .Phi, Journalism honorary, and a United Student Party delegate. Yvonne Avas awarded outstanding freshman in Journalism, wrote for Green
Pen and served on SUB committees. She is a member of the English Club. Alpha Lambda Delta,

Upsilon Omicron and secretary of the Women's
Administrative Council. She was chairman of the
Leadership Conference this fall, a counselor in
Jewell Hall and in the UK chorus. Ruth is a senior
in Home Economics.
Being past president of Panhellenic, Sharon Miller has had a full time Job, besides being active in
many campus organizations. She is a member of,
Alpha Xi Delta sorority, WAA, Future Teachers of
America, League of Women Voters, Kappa Delta Pi
honorary and Mortar Board. Sharon received the
national Alpha Xi Delta Honor Ring, served on the
Social Committee of SUB. Student Leadership
Council and was Kentucky's delegate to SCONA
at Texas A and M. She was chairman of the planning board of SGA, served on the Kentuckian Staff
a semester and is Student Representative to the
Alumni Association Board. She was also a member
of the Women's Administrative Council and is a
senior from Louisville with a 3.4 standing.

has served on two Student Union Committees, Coffee Chat and House Committee. Besides this she
has worked on Religious Emphasis Week and the
Social Committee for SGA. She is also a member
of the Canterbury Club and WAA. B'nelle is from
Paducah.
One of the finest in the Guignol Players, Page
Williams, a senior in Arts and Sciences, has done
outstanding work in other campus activities. She
is past president of Delta Delta Delta sorority and
received the-- Phi "Delta Kappa award
junior in the College of Education. Page is
majoring in English, Speech and Drama, has a 3.6
overall and is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta,
Cwens, Mortar Board and Kappa Delta Pi, Education honorary. Page has also served on Panhellenic
and Women's Administrative Council and we think
she did a great job in all of the Guignol Theater
Productions.
Serving as station manager of WBKY is a job in
itself as Ann Young has done, besides having been
music librarian, traffic manager, producer of UK
Roundtable and program director in UK's radio
station. Ann is a senior from Dante, Virginia and
has a 3.5 standing, being a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Cwens and Mortar Board. She is past
vice president of her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, and
was also vice president of Chi Djlta Phi, English
honorary; and Theta Sigma Phi, Journalism honorary. In her freshman year, Ann served on the
YWCA Publicity Committee and the Student Union
Publicity Committee. She was moderator of the
Leadership Conference and a member of the World
University Service Committee. Ann also received
Kentucky Broadcasters Association
