FIRST KENTUCKY BRIGADE. 893 field service on account of it, though he retained his connection with the army till the termination of the war. OSCAR KENNARD, Cynth iana, Ky., was elected second lieutenant, ' May 7, 1862, and was promoted to captain, February 15, 1864. Fought at Shiloh, Vicksburg, Baton Rouge, Murfreesboro', Jackson, Chickamauga, Mission Ridge, Rocky Face Gap, Resaca, and Dallas; from Dallas to Atlanta; at Peachtree, Intrenchmeut, and Utoy Creeks ; both days at Jonesboro', and in the mounted engagements to Savannah, after which he was engaged in other duty till the close of the war. He was wounded at Baton Rouge. JOHN II. WEBB, Cynthiaua, Ky, was elected second lieutenant, June 30, 1863. Fought at Shiloh, Vicksburg, Hartsville, Murfreesboro', Jackson, Chickamauga, Mission Ridge, Rocky Face Gap, Resaca, Pine Mountain, Kenesaw Mouutain, Peachtree Creek, Intrenchmeut Creek, Utoy Creek, and at Jonesboro'. He was mortally wounded at the latter place, August 31, 1864, and died in Atlanta shortly afterward. JOHN W. CARROLL, Scott County, Ky, was elected second lieu-teuant, January, 1864. Fought at Shiloh, Vicksburg, Baton Rouge, Hartsville, Murfreesboro', Jackson, Chickamauga, and Mission Ridge. Died of disease at Newnan, Ga, 1864. He was awarded medal of honor for gallant and meritorious conduct at Chickamauga. RICHARD M. WALL, Cynthiana, Ky, was first one of the sergeants of the company, but was elected second lieutenant, January 20, 1863. Fought at Shiloh, Vicksburg, Hartsville, Murfreesboro', Chickamauga, Mission Ridge, Rocky Face Gap, Resaca, aud Jonesboro'. He was captured at Jonesboro', and was not exchanged in time to participate in the closing engagemeuts. JOHN ADAMS, Harrison County, Ky, fought at Shiloh; was generally afterward incapacitated, by ill health, for duty iu the ranks, and was employed as teamster. FAN ADAMS, Harrison County, Ky, fought at Shiloh and Vicksburg; and was discharged, July, 1862, on account of disability by disease. WW. ADAMS, Harrison County, Ky, fought at Shiloh, and was . wounded there, April 7, 1862; fought also at Hartsville. Was transferred to Company K, Secoud Keutucky Cavalry, December,' 1862. T\T A.
