' The College of Arts and Science offers courses lead- _.
ing to the Degrees of A.B. and B.S., to the Degree of ·
B.S. in Chemistry and A.B. and B.S. in education.
l To receive any of the above degrees a student must
{ be able to offer a minimum of 64 credit hours exclusive of
  those required in Military Science and Physical Train- ` j I
ing. Men are required to offer. three credits in Military l l A
Science and two in Physical Training and women are
required to offer two credits in Domestic Science and _
two in Physical Training.  
»_ The term ‘“credit hour," or briefly a “credit," as
l used in this College, is defined as the satisfactory com-
l pletion of a study involving lectures or recitations for e
. one hour per week for one year, or laboratory work for
two hours per week for the same period.
. Military Science and Physical Training are classed
i as laboratory work. ‘
Persons excused from Military Science or Physical ~
Training, for disability or any other cause, must offer an
equivalent number of credits in some other subjects. j
A student must take a sufficient amount of work each ,. A
year to secure at least 14 credits, and he will not be al- , " ` , i
lowed for the same time more than 18 credits.
The degree of A.B. will be conferred only on students .
i who at graduation have completed, in addition to other
' requirements, a minimum of live years in Latin—three i
units of preparatory and two units (6 credits) of univer- ·
_ sity Latin.
The branches taught in this college are grouped into ‘
thirteen courses, as a rule designated by a major subject.
Deviations from this grouping must receive the sanction
of the Dean of the College and the head of the Depart-
