The 1916 senior inspection trip of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Yifll FW;
Engineering was entirely successful and enjoyable. The party left March 26     — '
and returned to Lexington on April 2. L ` { }'1l ° l
The trip itinerary was very complete and although it required a maximum .   * hit;  ·  
amount of energy and “pep" to complete the arrangements on schedule, the `?   `   '  
visitors finished the week tired but triumphant. ,   i   I
The Chicago Chapter of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association     E  
entertained the visiting seniors and faculty at a banquet held at the Morrison §;§'_    131 , Y"; j
Hotel on the evening of Saturday, April 1. The innovation introduced at this All *·* ‘€ E ’ ,
banquet was the presence of the wives and women guests of the members of Q l·   · {
the association. A number of toasts were responded to by the visitors and ·}     _`   
alumni and the evening was closed by a short informal dance. ‘ 3

literary contest held April among the students of Civil Engineering of the   t in  l `

[ of the Civil Engineering School, to be given to the writers of papers of not less EZ {"  1  `il g ;,
than 2,000 words on one of ten subjects named by the magazine. Mr. Powell fl?   {Q i l
5 chose as his subject, "Technical Education versus Practical Training," and H. E.      ,   =*` , j
’ Anderson wrote on “The Possibilities of Reinforced Concrete." Qj;; {Ugg?

; bids fair to prove the most successful. An evidence as to the success of the gw    *5  {
movement, is apparent in the readiness with which the members are signing the     Q <
