A two-time Citizens-Savings Foundation Ail-American and All-Southeastern Conference selection, Givens has firmly established himself in Wildcat lore as one of the truly best finesse players to ever wear the Blue and White . . . Playing at Kentucky where balance in team scoring is traditional, Givens nevertheless has edged up to No. 11 in all-time UK scoring... After scoring 602 points as a sophomore (second best at UK) and 566 last year, Givens could become all-time scoring leader by averaging 22.7 points and is almost a sure bet to dislodge Kevin Grevey as No. 2 . . . Tied school recordfield goal percentage in single game, 11 of 12 for 91.7 per cent at Miss. State, 1/31/77 ... 1976 All-UKIT and MVP of annual Notre Dame game . . . Recipient of 1st annual Montgomery Alumni Club MVP award at Auburn last Jan. . . 1977 NCAA All-East Regional . . . Led team scoring, 18.9, free throw shooting, 83.2 per cent, finishing fifth and third in same SEC categories . . . Committed fewest turnovers (53) for time played . . .
