Pitino's bench will be missing last year's leading scorer, LeRon Ellis (16.0 ppg,), who transferred to Syracuse this past summer. Chris Mills, UK's leading re-bounder (8.7 rpg.) and second leading scorer (14,3 ppg.) transferred to Arizona, Point guard Sean Sutton, UK's assists leader (4.7 apgj, also transferred. Combine those losses with the graduation of UK's two tallest players, Mike Scott and Jeff Gin-nan, and you have a small, nexperienced group.
Still, excitement is high in the Bluegrass. Pitino's hiring signaled the end of an unpleasant chapter in Kentucky basketball history, and the beginning of what Wildcat faithful envision as brighter days ahead. While the 1989-90 Kentucky roster
