MEET
T

Game Called at 3:30 This
Afternoon on Stoll Field
The first of the two games of bnseball
Conch Jim Park hns slated for this
week will tnke place Friday afternoon
nt 3:30 o'clock on Stoll Field when the
Kentucky "Wildcats cross bats with the
Georgetown Tigers.
The game with Georgetown was
originally scheduled for April 1, but
was ndvanced to April 28 because of
unfvorablo weather conditions. Since
that time both teams have had plenty
of action, Kentucky losing only one
game and that to the strong Michigan
University team.
Cnptain "Bud" Slomer, who wrench
ed his knee In a practice game last
week, will not be able to play against
Georgetown. His place will probably
be filled by Fleahman or Stokes who
made his bow to Kentucky baseball
fans In the Centre game last Saturday
and who also gives great promise.
Coach Park will give his men a thorough workout nil this week In preparation for the Georgetown game. Tho
fielding of the Wildcats which was a
little leaky in tho Centre game will be
given particular attention.
According to dope the Wildcats have
the edge on the Tigers. April 15 Ken
tucky defeated Ohio State 10 to 6, the
Buckeyes having defeated the Tigers
the day before by an 8 to 1 score.
Bailey the mainstay of the Tiger pitching staff, however, was absent from
the Georgetown lineup.
Georgetown can be depended upon
to make things interesting and with
six letter men from last year back on
the team will give Kentucky a terrific
struggle. Last Saturday the Tigers
held the strong University of Louis
vllle team to a 2 to 2 tie.
The probable lineup for Friday's
game is as follows:
Kentucky: Brown lb; King ss;
3b; Sauer If; Jones cf ; Beam rf ;
Prlbble c; Fleahman or Stokes p.
Georgetown: Berry lb; Martin 2b;
Funk ss; T. Perry 3b; D. Berry If;
Trunnel cf; Beckley rf; Cloar c; Bailey
p.
Umpire, Wright.

Game in Doubt Until Final
Inning;; Scose 10 to 9.
The University of Kentucky Wildcat
Baseball team defeated the Centre
College colonels by a 10 to 9 score on
Centre's home grounds last Saturday
afternoon.
The result of the game was In doubt
up to the last put out, as both teams
scored in the final inning. Kentucky
went into the last inning leading by
four runs. Hunter opened the inning
for Centre by reaching first on
error. Carter grounded to

were now one run short ot tying Ken
tucky and no outs. Cregor drilled the
first ball pitched to deep center for
two bases, Lemon scoring. It was at
this time that the break occurred.
Tillett who was umpiring with Acton,
had called time out before Stokes delivered the ball and had started toward third base to clear away the
spectators who were crowding the
base line. The umpire ruled the play
dead and sent Lemon back to first and
Gregor to bat over. Cregor filed out
to second and the next two batters
went out in order leaving Lemon
anchored on first. The batting aver
age of Jones of Kentucky took an up
ward trend in this game, Otis making
two doubles and two singles out of
five trips to the plate. Prlbble collected two doubles and a single.
Fleahman started for Kentucky, but
was replaced by Stokes after the first
