According to J. H. Spencer's, A HISTORY OF KENTUCKY BAPTISTS, David's Fork Church was begun as a branch of Bryant's Station Church which was constituted in 1786. It became an independent church, August 26, 1801.
These are the records of the David's Fork Baptist Church, Fayette County, Ky, December 15, 1802 to January 1, 1900. Included are minutes, Articles of Faith, Church Covenant, Rules of Decorum and "A Brief History of the David's Fork Baptist Church from 1900 until May 7, 1937." There are also several membership lists, one of which is of blacks, and a typewritten history of the church and list of members compiled by Mrs. H. K. McAdams.
