GEORGETOWN TIGERS PLAY ROSE POLY TEAM

-

GOOD CROWD IS
EXPECTED FOR
OPENING GAME

Andrews will be in uniform in a day
or two, but the other three may be
out in a week or ten days.
Five games are on the freshman
schedule, games with the Kentucky
Wesleyan Panther Cubs, the Transylvania Rats and the University of Louisville Frosh being played at Georgeelevens of
town, while the first-yethe University of Kentucky and Centre College will be played on foreign
fields. Wesleyan, Kentucky and Centre were decisively beaten by the
southern champion Cubs last year,
while Transylvania and the University
of Louisville are putting their first
freshman teams in the field.
The Tigers are going at a stiff pace,
and are quickly rounding into shape
for the Rose Poly game, which will
inaugurate the local football season.
Rose Poly is credited with having a
good team this year, and the Tigers
are out to start their season off with
a victory, so an excellent contest is

have returned to the lineup, and the
others are expected to be back into
uniform soon.
Coach Hovater has given no hint as
to his starting lineup, but it is expected that his team will be composed of
nine or 10 sophomores. Interest in
Georgetown is at high pitch just now,
and a record crowd is expected to be
on hand when the season is opened.

prepare to set aside the good "ole"

party as ever sang its way to camp.
All you need is the odd tooth brush.
And incidentally a dollar and a half,
which includes food "fit for a King,"
as they say and transportation.
But wait there's just one other
qualification.
On' Monday afternoon, October 4,
at 4 o'clock, there's to be a meeting of
girls in the girls' gym, and attendance at said meeting is qualification
to become a member of the Women's
Athletic Association. This is the
first meeting of the school year and
it is absolutely essential that all aspirants to WJ.A.A. be present in order
to become members. The second
meeting does not take place until
some time in February. So, girls, a
most cordial invitation is extended to
you ALL to be there.
The W.A.A. camp has been planned
for the week-en- d
of Saturday, October
9, and is to be spent at Swallow's
Nest Lodge on the Kentucky river.
Further particulars as to camp may
be obtained from Mabel Hill, president of W.A.A. who lives at Patt
Hall or from Miss Skinner, Athletic
Instructor.
Hockey practices start on the Tuesday following the mass meeting at
the gym at 4 o'clock. Everyone is
urged to "come out."
