12. Upgrade/Modify Coldstream Facilities

The Coldstream Research Campus anticipates that its University-owned facilities (roofs, roads, grounds, utilities, or other infrastructure elements) will require upgrading/modification to meet the needs of the Research Campus's constituents. In order for Coldstream to be successful as a research and economic development enterprise, the University must have the flexibility to enter into contractual arrangements with commercial and private corporations desiring to locate at Coldstream in a timely manner.
13. Renovate Lab & Support Space in Med Science
30,769 gross sq. ft.                                   State Bonds                   $9,500,000
This project will renovate the Medical Sciences Building. The work will include upgrades to labs, lab support spaces, corridors, restrooms, classrooms, and offices. The work will also include upgrades to the electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and communication systems. Other deficiencies will be addressed including emergency eyewash/showers and asbestos abatement.
14. Expand Bio-safety Laboratory in Med Science
17,486 gross sq.ft.                                   State Bonds                 $25,500,000
This project will renovate the sixth floor of the Medical Sciences Building into Bio-Safety Level-3 laboratories for infectious disease research. In addition to laboratories, the project includes support space such as an autoclave facility, animal rooms, and staff changing and decontamination areas.
15. Expand Memorial Coliseum
101,581 gross sq.ft.                                Agency Bonds             $20,500,000
Agency bonds will be requested to finance the construction of the 101,581 gross square foot Basketball Practice Facility project while gifts and pledges are received over a number of years. The construction of the facility was authorized by the 2005 General Assembly.
16. Expand Pence Hall

This project will construct an addition to Pence Hall that will include class labs (studios), faculty offices, and student support spaces. The new space will be used to consolidate the College of Design.
