Biography/History

Paducah was founded in 1827 by explorer William Clark and was first governed by a Board of Trustees. In 1856 it was elevated to the status of a third-class city and the next year a City Council was formed to take the place of the Board.

These are microfilmed minutes of the Paducah City Council. The records begin during the era when Paducah was governed by a Board of Trustees. They record the Board and City Council's transactions of city business.
