There is a book that I have been recommending lately called "G00d to Great" by Jim Collins. ; y QQ It compares companies in a number of industries and identifies the factors that explain "why I I some companies make the leap. . .and others dont." Its a powerful book. ?f ` ._. I asked Coach Tubby Smith what he had done to turn around the problems that the basket- . . ball team had during the Team Turmoil year. That teams record had been good, but there were , E; distractions that kept it from being great. Coach Smith explained that he had read this book by I V Jim Collins and that it had been very helpful. He made some changes for the better in the . rgrg r , team. fj'; Let me share with you the application of "G00d to Great" concepts as it applies to the Uni- y f versity of Kentuckys mission to be a top20 university.
