The Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, enmnns- ed of thirteen southern states, met
at Nashville, Tenn., on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of last week to
take up the work of accrediting colleges and secondary schools and problems of education. This information
was given put by Dean Paul P. Boyd,
of the college of Arts and Sciences
of the university, who attended the
conierence.
The first two days were spent in
the accrediting of colleges and sec
ondary schools in the thirteen states
ot tne Association. Forty-liv- e
application from colleges were made for
entrance but only three were admit
ted. These were: Citadel College,
Charleston, S. C; Texas A. & M.,
and Furman University.
The situation at Centre1 college was

The latter part of the conference
was devoted to educational subiects.
President Frank L. McVey represented the University of Kentucky on
the committee in accrediting colleges
and Mr. M. E. Licron. nrofessor of

accrediting secondary schools.
