Scope and Content

This collection is comprised of genealogies of various Kentucky families. The family names represented here include Bullock, Cecil, Clay, Cowgill, Cozine, Cunningham, Dulin, Herr, Hunt, Perry, Polk, Taylor, Waller and Whitthorne. Among the Bullock papers is a Civil War journal kept by CSA soldier Cabell Breckinridge Bullock (1840-1932) while he was held prisoner of war at Camp Morton, Indiana. The Cecil family materials consist primarily of legal documents concerning land in Boyle County, Kentucky. In addition to the extensive genealogical data on each family, this collection contains photographs, tributes, recipes, correspondence, essays, clippings, obituaries and other miscellaneous material.
