Personal mementos and photographs that belonged to Ida Kenney Risque Harper, a 1925 UK graduate.
Ida Kenney Risque Harper was a student at the University of Kentucky from 1921-1925. She was a member of the Lambda Alpha chapter of Chi Omega Women's Fraternity, the Strollers, the Rifle Club (1923), and Su-Ky Circle. She graduated in 1925 with an A.B. degree majoring in Arts/Education and went on to become a high school teacher. She married Henry Alexander Harper on December 26, 1928.
The Ida Kenney Risque Harper scrapbook includes pages previously contained in a scrapbook. The pages were disbound for preservation purposes. The scrapbook contains items related to Harper's student life at the University of Kentucky during the years 1921-1925. It includes dance invitations and dance cards, theatre programs, some correspondence, newspaper clippings, and photographs. Many of the items relate to Ida Kenney Risque Harper's involvement in the Lambda Alpha chapter of Chi Omega Women's Fraternity. Of note, there are several citations from the Woman's Self Government Association indicating rules that Harper had broken. The photographs predominantly consist of plays during the 1920s.
