Game 19
KENTUCKY 75, Auburn 71 February 4, 1987 Rupp Arena
Kentucky broke out of the gate early and then held on at the end to defeat Auburn for the second time this season, 75-71.
James Blackmon continued his hot play with a career high 27 points and led the Cats to a 20-point first half lead of 36-16.
But the Tigers clawed back with a trapping defense and some hot shooting. Behind by one with just under five minutes to play, Auburn sank nine consecutive points to set themselves up for a win.
The chance slipped away when Aundrae Davis' three-pointer clanged off the rim in the final seconds.

February 7, 1987 Memorial Coliseum
- Tuscaloosa
Alabama had Kentucky on the ropes but couldn't deliver the knock-out punch as the Wildcats wiggled out of trouble and upset the Tide 70-69.
UK found itself down 69-63 to the SEC leaders with just 1:23 to play. But the Cats stormed back to score seven unanswered points.
Ed Davender, who had a career-high 29 points, nailed the final two with just five seconds on the clock.
Kentucky led by 12 points early on and by five at intermission, but Alabama out-scored the Cats 10-2 at the start of the second half to take the lead. It was a lead the Tide refused to relinquish until Davender's final shot sealed the victory.

Game 21
KENTUCKY 91, Tennessee 84 February 11, 1987 Rupp Arena
Kentucky continued its magic act by reaching in its bag of tricks and pulling out a 91-84 overtime victory over Tennessee.
With 73 seconds left to play, the Vols seemed in complete command with a 10-point lead. But the Cats roared back and caught Tennessee when Rex Chapman went coast-to-coast and banged in a six-foot jumper at the buzzer. Chapman's shot completed a 12-2 UK streak and sent the game into overtime.
The Wildcats took the momentum and outscored the Vols 14-7 in the extra period.
Chapman led all scorers with 26 points while back-court mate Ed Davender pumped in 25.
Tennessee was led by Tony White's 20, but they lost their top gun when White fouled out on a charging call with 32 left in regulation.
