15th Rain Rain Rain it rained all night again last night and is I ,
raining this morning with a good prospect for another wet day I went with
B F Martin to the Botbm after our stock and we were n ne too soon in getting
down there as the river was rising u usually fast with a good prospect to
cover all the low grounds we managed after a hard days work to get the
most of our Cattle as far as Dr McLaugh1ans where we camped for the night I
I got a Ducking by getting in a deep slough at the wrong place
16th We managed to get our Cattle home to day and I feel like I will
try to live and keep my stock in the hills in the future Paid Mrs Cynthia _

17th Su day I was at church this morning Elder Thurman preached this
was a pleasant day
18th I drove to Henderson 9 head of Cattle to day we sold to C Kriel
& Son at h and hg cts Gross that is h head at hg cts and 5 at h cts they
weighed 8810 lbs Amt to $376.10 of this Amt I received $216 and a due Bill
for the Eallance of this Amt Iwvas entitled to $307.30 I started home this _
evening but met my wagon and went back to town I got my su per at the Hancock __
House and went to hear the Rev Mr Mayes at the Baptist Church I thought he
told a good many plain truths which if listened to right would do his con-
gregation much good
19th I remained all night at Thos S Knights and unloaded my tobacco
this morning the Load weighed good 1200 Lugs 700 and 105 lbs off for order _

2lst I was striping tobacco again this mo ning but it got so dold that
we had to quit I traded Phil Smith a cow for a mule I gave $h0 to Boot and
paid him $25 in money Loaned Sam $5
22nd Striping tobacco again to day &c
23rd This has been a windy but pleasait I have been at work on a
Negro cabin
Q 2hth Sunday I was at Church this morning but did not stay to preach-
ing this was a pleasant day
25th I loaded my wagon with tobacco and went to Henderson in the evening
