Good and Lugs 1160 Trash 160 Amt to $130. 80. This was a disputed
Crop as Steve Gibson had sworn out a delivery Bond which was at-
tempted to be levied by the Sheriff but they finally concluded to
abandon the suit as his lawyer saw Breakers ahead

S Tweedys in the evening &c I sold a Grey mare I Bought of Griffin
yesterday to Adam Martin for $100 cash
3lst Today ends the month of March and I am not sorry as it
' has been one of the most disagreeable months I have ever seen or
experienced It has snowed and Blowed one might say during the
entire month I have not been able to do much on the farm and am
not through with my tobacco yet
I started my plows for the first time this morning but the
ground is verry wet & heavy and the prospect good for more rain
with the roads allmost impassable I have all my winterés and I might
say all of my spring work to do and one so called Spring month has
V allready gone
. But sometimes a bad beginning Makes a good ending and
I will still hope for the best as a man may as well look/to the bright
side of the picture as on the dark
April lst - This is a wet disagreeable morning for the Beginning
of the month of April I went down to the F3¤1lk¤€!` Mill and
tried to strip bet-t tobacco in the evening but it was too dry to handle

to Deeds and from there to fha Mr. Keepers for the same purpose
3rd Went to Henderson to day I made several trades but whether
I make any money remains to be tried
4th Sunday I was at Church this morning Elder Hevrin Preached
. also in the evening when Elder Brooken Taylor preached It had been
at long time since I heard Brother Taylor preach and this evening I
thought he preached a sermon of great excellence & Power
5th I was at work about the farm to day sowing Clover Seed &c
