Example left us by our Saviour they were Immersed by Elder Lacy
in the Ohio River I hope these two young Ladys may ever adorn the
profession they have made and live a life of usefullnes here and when
done with this life May they hear the welcome applaudit of well done good
and faithful servant this was wet disagreeable day

17th The Mill was Runing a-gi-n again to day and I was at work
Hauling lumber &c
18th At work about the Mill again to day but They had to Stop this
evening as they were short of hands
19th I was hunting &c in the Morning and assisted the BuBld·i-gn
Building Committee to stack lumber in the evening
20th Sunday I was at Sabbath School and church this morning
Elder Thurman Preached I went to Hosea Smiths this evening to see ·
James Smith who is verry Illlwith Typhoid Pneumonia · ‘

25th Went to Henderson to day in company with Adelia Came Home and ,
went to Hosea Smiths at night I sat up with James Smith all night believ-
ing every hour would be his last but he lingered through the whole night
unconscious of what was passing around him and on the verge of eternity
26th The sun came out brightly this morning and I looked forth
upon the beauties of Nature but I could not enjoy it for all around me was
grief and mourning for I was in the presence of Death a young man in the
prime of life was lying before me dieing all night long seemingly he had
strugled with the grim monster death but now the hard breathing and the
death rattle was fast telling us which would gain the v·i—s·- victory Nature
